Holidays!

Finally, I get to start writing again. This blog was long forgotten and out, until a comment notification woke me up from my slumber. Holidays are on, and I was supposed to do some 'industrial training' but thanks to the 'economic slowdown' and my ‘no-contacts' specification it didn’t materialise into anything.

Economic slowdown- The word brings a recent conversation between me and a co-passenger on Mumbai Mail.

Mumbai-I salute this city. Time and again it has been stood its test. A test given to it to prove ... prove... I seriously don’t know what? I read terrorism has no religion, and I ask what age they trying to prove. I think their constant attack on cities have made people more composed, for e.g. the announcer at CST, he kept his cool and directed the passengers to safety.

CST- We (Tulika and me) had tickets to Kolkata from two routes- Madgoan and CST. Thanks to the waiting list criteria of the Indian Railways, you cannot have a clear picture of anything. But when 26th November happened, the event made us choose our path. We were there just ten days after 'they' were there. And the site was one I am not going to forget very soon. How can Reader Digest say the Mumbai is the rudest city in the world?

Reader's Digest- these holidays I have been reading a lot. I don’t know why but I have taken up reading in a serious way. Reader's Digest (Dec Edition) and Paulo Coelho’s Brida were the ones I read on the train. At home it’s been Friedman’s The world is flat, Dan Brown's Digital fortress and am currently reading Bleachers. I guess Lewis's How to read better and faster is having its effects; but somehow I think the seventh chapter is jinxed. I cannot somehow complete that chapter. I have even completed the IEENC newsletter, now I am waiting for Shreya to complete her Photoshop training, so that we can lay it down and send it for print.

Photoshop- "If given a chance, I would Photoshop my holidays!” A line that my Photoshop-freak friend had said. What she meant was that she wanted to make her holidays perfect.

Perfect- these holidays are going absolutely perfect. I had never thought I could read so much in a holiday. I have been balancing time in the perfect way. Apart from reading I am perfecting my skills on Fifa09, doing CAT materials, and spending quality time with my loved and dear ones. Yesterday my girlfriend completed her fifth semester exams and we went out to celebrate the event. During the time I came to know that my own fifth semester results were out. It was then I encounter the comment notification, and today after a fifteen hour sleep to overcome the trauma of that disastrous result, I am back on the blog. With Christmas just round the corner I think this is the perfect time to wish everyone their Season greetings. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Enjoy!
